this is the last meal i had in new zealand. french toast. i had it a couple times, and it was always served with bacon (the ham style) in between slices, and with grilled banana. very good, although i prefer the custardy white bread type, as opposed to the chewy french bread that this was.

I looked at this earlier and went "oh wow, that looks delicious, with the banana!" and now that I've been making cookies for a couple hours, the idea of maple syrup makes me queasy. I guess it's all about what mood you're in!
i actually use very little syrup when eating french toast or pancakes. i like the plain taste of egg/bread, along with butter. j just made me french toast yesterday, and he surprised me with a grilled banana. it's actually pretty good!
